2020 – 2021

Nathan Williams is an experienced educator and musician from San Diego, CA. While attending San Diego State University Nathan was an active participant in the Marching Band for 8 years, including 4 years as trumpet section leader. He was also first chair trumpet in the school’s top wind ensemble for two years and participated in the school’s brass ensembles and orchestra. Nathan went on to perform with the San Diego City Ballet, Moonlight Stage Productions, and many other performing groups throughout San Diego County.

After completing his studies at SDSU Nathan taught at Magnolia Science Academy, a charter middle school in San Diego for 9 years. Nathan spent 7 years as Director of Bands and 2 years as Dean of Students. During his tenure at Magnolia Science Academy Nathan was responsible for not only the band program, but also campus-wide social-emotional learning, behavior support systems, and implementing a restorative approach to discipline management.

Nathan and his family moved to Reno during the Spring of 2020 and is excited to contribute to the long history of excellence at McQueen High School.
