Many Hands Make Light Work

Do you want to get involved, but don’t know where to start? Attend our monthly meetings, every first Wednesday of the month, 7 pm, in the band room. Can’t attend the monthly meeting? Then contact a chairperson or director and offer to help. Get on our email list for info, newsletters and texts messages, and always stay connected. Support your student, lend a very needed helping hand, and possibly make a new friend along the way.

UNIFORMS

Chairperson – Ginger Surgrue-Trimbach

Description: Assigns uniforms, maintains uniforms, checks out and in uniforms before and after

games / competitions, fits and orders tuxes and concert black dresses for winter, helps organize uniform room.

 

FINISHING TOUCHES

Description: No fly-away’s allowed! After students are in uniform, help them with their hair and shakos. All tools provided including training.

 

PIT CREW, EQUIPMENT & PROPS

Description: Responsible for organizing the moving of pit instruments for show time,

prop/equipment building, maintenance, painting, and general repair, assist our truck driver and

students in loading and unloading of band props and equipment, transportation, and setup at

football, games, concerts and competitions.

Description: Come join this fun group that helps prepare and serve food to the band. Throughout the year we have a need for food service at competitions, fundraising

events, bake sales, or just providing a treat for students after a game or competition.

Students…are you a Vegan or Vegetarian? Please let us know ASAP so we can plan ahead for

meals this season. Thank You!

 

WATER MASTER

Director – Craig Daily

Description: Ensure that we have enough water at each event for the students.  Fill coolers with bottled water and ice.

 

FOOTBALL OPERATIONS

Description: Help to provide music, jackets, water and clean bleachers for band students at all

football home games. During the game we provide water to the students through at least the 3rd quarter.

 

HISTORIANS

We are always looking for photographers at every event!

Description: Photograph/Video students before and after events and competitions. Photos and

videos will be used to create CDs.

 

WEBSITE

Description: Help with promotion and/or advertising of shows, competitions, concerts,

fundraising events through radio, newspaper, flyers, etc. Maintain website and social media for

the Band.

 

GRANT WRITING

Description: Searching for and applying for grants for the McQueen Band and/or the McQueen

Band Parents Association, PARENTS Does your employer have a Grant Program? They might…and if they do McQueen Band could benefit! It is a fact that UPS, Wal-Mart, and many, many other companies offer grants to organizations in need. PLEASE check it out today and let our BPA President know ASAP!

 

MERCHANDISE

Description: Organizes, takes orders, and sells merchandize for McQueen Band. Items range from clothing for Parent/Student use and items to be sold at Fundraising Events. Help with

Silent Auctions.

 

TRAILER DRIVER

We need drivers to tow the uniform trailer and the lights to each competition.
