The Robert McQueen High School Band has earned many awards and honors since the school opened in 1982. This band has always exhibited unwavering dedication during its Quest for Excellence. The dedication and hard work of our outstanding Band Staff, both past and present, along with the incredible work ethic brought forth by our talented and dedicated Band Students over all these years has made every year as memorable and as exciting as the next.
In 2009, the McQueen High School Lancer Band,
led by Mr. Rick Moffit, was THE first Reno band
ever to be invited to march the world-wide Rose Parade.
In 2014, the McQueen High School Lancer Band,
led by Mr. Rick Moffit, were honored to be invited back
to this most prestigious event.
125th Tournament of Roses
The McQueen High School Lancer Band had a terrific time in Pasadena, CA, from BandFest to marching down Disney’s Main Street to the 125th Tournament of Roses Parade. It was a jam-packed week of fun for all involved. This once in a lifetime invitational, to represent the State of Nevada, will never be forgotten!
